After holding crucial meetings with the BJP high command in New Delhi, party leader Thongam Biswajit Singh landed in Imphal this morning. The Thongju MLA, while speaking to the media, informed that the party high command will soon be taking a call on the formation of the new government in the state. 

With the suspense over who will be the next Chief Minister of Manipur growing each passing day, Caretaker Chief Minister N Biren Singh and state BJP President A. Sharada Devi are also likely to return to Imphal later today.

It may be mentioned here that all three leaders had been holding a series of meetings with party high command in New Delhi over the last few days to finalise on the Chief Ministerial face.

Earlier, there were reports that N Biren Singh’s name has been cleared for the post of CM.

As per reports, the BJP high command has approved the name of N Biren Singh for the post of Manipur CM. However, there is no official word yet.

Meanwhile, it is also learnt that Union Ministers Nirmala Sitharaman and Kiren Rijiju will also be coming to Imphal on March 18 or 19 to oversee the appointment of the next chief minister.
