Considering the steep rise in COVID-19 positive cases in Manipur, chief minister N Biren Singh on Monday inaugurated a 300-bed Covid Care facility at the Trade Expo Centre in Imphal
Considering the steep rise in COVID-19 positive cases in Manipur, chief minister N Biren Singh on Monday inaugurated a 300-bed Covid Care facility at the Trade Expo Centre in Imphal West’s LamboiKhongnangkhong, in presence of deputy chief minister Y Joykumar and health minister L Jayantakumar.
Taking to Twitter, CM Biren Singh tweeted, “Inaugurated and operationalised the new 300 bedded Covid Care Centre at Manipur Trade & Expo Centre, Lambikhongnangkhong today.
“This facility can be further upgraded to a 1,000 bedded Covid Care Centre if the need arises,” Singh added.
Earlier in June, another Covid Care Centre in the state with 300 bed capacity was inaugurated by the chief minister at UNACCO School Building in Imphal west’s Meitram.
Manipur recorded one more death due to Coronavirus on Sunday, taking the toll to 7.
Meanwhile, 61 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the past 24 hours. The total number of positive cases in the state now stands at 2,831.
Over 1 lakh sample has been tested and probable rise in positive cases can be seen in the days to come as cases without travel history are surfacing across the state.
