In an unfortunate incident, a baby girl of internally displaced parents died because her parents had no money to buy medicines. The family was living in one of the relief camps in violence-hit Manipur.
The 2 years and 7-month-old baby girl died at the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal on July 21. She was admitted there as she was suffering from breathing problems.
The baby girl along with her parents who hail from Torbung Govindpur of Churachandpur were displaced by the ethnic violence going on in the state for 3 months now.
They used to earn their living from a shop that they owned in Churachandpur but that along with their houses was burnt down by a mob leaving them homeless.
They were taking shelter at a relief camp at Thangjing Sindam Sanglen of Moirang under Bishnupur district in the state.
The mother of the deceased baby urged the state government to take care of the internally displaced people taking shelter in various relief camps to prevent any such incidents.
