The Manipur Speaker has reserved his decision on the T Shyamkumar disqualification case till February 12.
The case of T Shyamkumar was heard by the Speaker of Manipur Assembly – Y Khemchand Singh on Tuesday, following the Supreme Court’s ruling that directed the speaker tribunal to give a decision on the disqualification case of T Shyamkumar within a period of 4 weeks.
Notably, a recent order of the Supreme Court passed on January 21 directed the Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly to decide within four weeks the plea filed by Congress MLA K Meghachandra seeking disqualification of forest minister T Shyamkumar.
T Shyamkumar was elected on Congress ticket in the general election to the state Assembly in 2017 but he switched to the BJP soon after the election results were declared.
