Manipur Assembly Elections: Singhat KPA candidate’s chief agent attacked

Ahead of Phase 2 polls of its assembly elections, Manipur has reported another instance of poll violence at Churachandpur’s Singhat Assembly Constituency. As per inputs, the chief agent of Kuki People’s Alliance candidate Chinlunthang was attacked last night at Maukot allegedly by members of the Zomi Revolutionary Army or ZRA.

Following the incident, KPA supporters have staged a protest in front of the Churachandpur SP office demanding immediate arrest of those involved.

It has been alleged that 5 more KPA supporters were attacked on Wednesday. They are currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.

It is to be mentioned that several instances of pre-poll and poll-related violence have occurred in Manipur over the past few months. Polls in Churachandpur were held in Phase 1 on February 28.
