The AMTDGF said that only Rs 100 crore has been released so far for the 16 districts of the state under MGNREGA. The AMTDGF said that it postponed its economic blockade along NH-2 and NH-37 due to Diwali and Ningol Chakouba celebrations but has been compelled to go ahead with it now since there has been no response from the government till the deadline of October 30th.

The AMTDGF has appealed to the public to support the indefinite economic blockade.

Meanwhile, in a statement, the Manipur Government said that an additional Rs 150 crore from the total Rs 756 crore sanctioned will be released soon, and the remaining amount will be released in due course of time. The Manipur government also refuted allegations of misappropriation of Rs 756 crore.
