Manipur: 50-bedded COVID Care Centre, COVID Care Private Ward set up at RIMS Imphal

Director of the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences or the RIMS, Professor A. Santa on Friday inaugurated of as many as five facilities, including 50 Covid Care beds/infectious disease Centre, Covid care private ward, PSA oxygen generator and refilling station, hospital record department, and a store for condemned materials.

Speaking exclusively to North East Live, RIMS director Professor A Santa said that RIMS, being one of the premier medical institutions in the entire northeast, has enough manpower to handle the sophisticated and advanced machines that have been installed at the hospital recently.

He further said that the healthcare facilities in government hospitals have significantly improved and the ministry of health and family welfare is ever ready to invest more in RIMS.

He exuded confidence that RIMS’s having a separate COVID care/infectious disease Centre will be highly beneficial since the COVID pandemic may resurge anytime.
