Manipur: 10 Armed Men Killed in Jiribam Shootout Laid to Rest in Churachandpur After 25 Days

The burial, organized by the Joint Philanthropic Organisation (JPO), took place in Churachandpur after a condolence program at Peace Ground.
The 10 armed men who were killed in a shootout with security forces in Jiribam, Manipur, on November 11, 2024, were laid to rest today, 25 days after their deaths.

The burial ceremony began at around 3 p.m., after a gun salute was given by volunteers to honour the deceased.
Family members, along with the public, offered floral tributes as the bodies were placed in front of the gathering.
The event was attended by leaders from the Zomi Council, Kuki Inpi, and other tribal leaders.
The 10 militants were killed when CRPF forces opened fire after being attacked by armed men in the Jakuradhar area of Borobekra, around 30 km from Jiribam on November 11. The attack left one CRPF jawan injured. In retaliation, the CRPF shot which resulted in the deaths of 10 armed men.
