Main accused in the horrific Karbi Anglong Mob Lynching case, Alpha Timung has been sent to 3-day police custody by the Diphu Sessions Court.

Turning down Police’s appeal before the court for 12 day custody, the Court sent the accused for 3-day police custody.

Meanwhile, call for justice to Nilotpal Das and Abhijit Nath has grown stronger. Locals in Diphu town organised a prayer service for the deceased duo.

The service was attended by senior citizens, various organizations and eminent literary personality and Padmashree awardee Rongbong Terang.

Speaking about the artist duo of Nilotpal Das and Abhijeet Das who lost their lives to barbaric mob lynching, Terang condemned the entire incident and urged the people of Assam to stay united during such critical times.

He is of opinion that the Kathilangso Waterfall should be named after Nilotpal Das and Abhijit Nath to immortalise the duo in Karbi Anglong.
