From being a gangster to donning a romantic avatar and portraying a superhero, our Bollywood and television actors experiment with different characters time and again. Some of the actors have even impressed the audience by performing the role of a God in projects. As it’s Maha Shivratri on Saturday, let’s take a look at the best portrayals of Lord Shiva on the big screen.

Mohit Raina

Actor Mohit Raina rose to fame with his role as Lord Shiva on the TV show Devon Ke Dev – Mahadev. It’s been over a decade since Mohit portrayed the deity role and his fans still recognise him through that character. 

Akshay Kumar

Akshay will be seen playing the role of Lord Shiva in the film ‘Oh My God 2’. In October 2021, Akshay shared two posters of ‘OMG 2’, one of which shows him in a look inspired by Lord Shiva. The first poster shows Akshay in blue, with his eyes closed and hair in dreadlocks.Words ‘Rakh Vishwas, Tu hai shiv ka das’ can be seen written on the poster.

Vikkas Manaktala 

Actor Vikkas Manaktala, who was recently seen in Bigg Boss 16, portrayed the role of Lord Shiva in Star Plus’ show ‘Namah’.

Tarun Khanna has played the role of Lord Shiva in several shows including Karamphal Daata Shani, Paramavtar Shri Krishna, Radha Krishn and Devi Ati Parashakti.
