Manipuri Boxing Queen Mary Kom punched her way glory and defeated Nikhat Zareen 9-1 on Saturday in the finals of the ongoing Women’s Boxing Olympic trials.

The Six-time World Champion got the better of 23-year-old former junior world Champion Nikhat Zareen in the 51-kg weight category at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in New Delhi.

However, video of Mary Kom’s reaction after the bout started doing the rounds on Twitter, where the Champion Pugilist can be seen marching past her opponent and not shaking her hands.

After the bout, Mary Kom revealed as to why she didn’t shake hands with Nikhat Zareen.A pumped up Mary Kom said that if Nikhat want others to respect her then she should first respect others. I don’t like people with such nature. Just prove your point inside the ring and not outside.

In the 51kg category, Mary Kom had earlier defeated her opponent Ritu Grewal in a unanimous decision while Zareen too outclassed her opponent Jyoti in a unanimous decision on Friday.

It needs to be mentioned that Zareen had demanded a ‘fair chance’ to contest the Tokyo Olympic qualifiers. On October 17, Zareen had written to the Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju challenging the Boxing Federation of India’s decision to accommodate world champion Kom by changing its rule of exempting gold and silver medallists from the World Cup.
