As many as 7 women bodies of the state led by Nupi-Samaj met Chief Minister N Biren Singh to express their opposition to the government’s decision on lifting of the Manipur Liquor Prohibition Act 1991.
Speaking to Northeast Live Ima L Ngangbi, President, AMKIL or the Apunba Manipur Kanba Ima Lup, stated that during the meeting with Chief Minister N Biren Singh, they urged the government not to commercialize locally brewed wine except for limited production for purpose of Custom and Traditional purposes.
Ima L Ngangbi further added that during the meet the Nupi-Samaj along with the other 7 women bodies urged the Manipur Chief Minister for the strict implementation of Manipur Liquor Prohibition Act 1991 with the cooperation from general public and Women’s Bodies.
