The Kuki community in Manipur observed Black Day across the state remembering the 900 innocent Kuki people killed between 1992 and 1997 allegedly by the NSCN-IM.
Kukis observe September 13 as Sahnit-Ni or ‘Black Day’ every year. Black Day was also observed in Churachandpur.
Observing Black Day the community urged upon the centre to deliver justice and settle issues of Kuki genocide by NSCN(I-M) before making a final agreement with the rebel group.
Besides, the community further warned of intensifying their agitation seeking justice.
The review meeting was attended by Chief Ministers of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Tripura.
