Killer electric poles of Guwahati: Father on way to pick child dies after electric pole falls on him

In a tragic incident, a man who was on his bike on way to pick his child from tuition died after an electric pole fell on him.

The incident occurred on Monday night in the Kahilipara area of Guwahati.

The deceased has been identified as Jitu Hazarika, a school bus driver of RNS Academy, situated in Kahilipara.

The locals of the area are now demanding the removal of all old and worn out electric poles.

The locals alleged that the accident took place due to the sub-standard quality of work and negligence on the part of the authorities.
