Present Governor of West Bengal Keshari Nath Tripathi today took oath as the acting Governor of Tripura. He was sworn in by Tripura High Court Chief Justice Ajay Rahstag in the capital city Agartala.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, Deputy CM Jihashnu Debbarma, Mayor of Agartala municipal corporation Dr. Prafulljit Sinha and legislators were present on the occasion.

Tathagata Roy who had been the governor until now is leaving the state for some days and it is due to this reason that Keshari Nath Tripathi is taking the oath of Governor in the state.

However it is to be mentioned here that Keshari Nath Tripathi will serve as a temporary Governor. Tripathi has been the Governor of West Bengal since 2014 and has also served as the Governor of Bihar the same year. He also served as Mizoram’s Governor in the year 2015.
