In an unfortunate incident, an adult male rhino was gunned by forest guards in Assam’s Kaziranga National Park.

The incident happened late on monday night at the Agoratoli range of the park.

The act of shooting down the rhino was reportedly done in self defence after the beast got aggressive towards the forest guards and charged at them.

The forest guards had been on their regular night duty in the park. Meanwhile, the incident has caused sensation in the region.
