The students' association has raised concerns over the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), alleging bias in favour of the accused.
The Karbi Students’ Association staged a peaceful protest today in front of Assam University’s Diphu Campus Gate, demanding strict action against Anirudh Kumar, an Assistant Professor in the Hindi Department, accused of alleged sexual misconduct.
The University has suspended Dr. Kumar for six months and launched an internal investigation.
However, the students’ association has raised concerns over the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), alleging bias in favour of the accused.
The protestors have called for a fair and impartial inquiry, stressing the need for immediate action to ensure justice. They have vowed to continue their agitation until the university guarantees the safety and well-being of students.
The incident has sparked debates on institutional accountability, with students urging authorities to uphold a transparent and just process.
