Amid the crisis in Manipur, a Karbi literary organization called the Karbi Lammet Amei, has voiced concerns over alleged entry of Kukis in Karbi Anglong in search of shelter. In a letter to KAAC’s Chief Executive Member Tuliram Ronghang, the KLA urged the government not to allocate land to the displaced individuals, citing potential disruption to the district’s demographic and social balance. KLA claimed that many Kukis have settled in Singhason and Khonbamon hill areas, threatening ancestral lands. The organisation has sought intervention from the Assam government and KAAC, suggesting temporary camps under strict supervision.
