Kangana Ranaut meets Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati

Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut who is currently in Assam for shooting her forthcoming biographical film called “Emergency”, paid a visit to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati on Saturday. 

CM Sarma tweeted, Happy to have met actor, writer, and filmmaker Kangana Ranaut Ji in my office today.”

The Chief Minister further expressed that he is glad that the actor will be shooting one of her productions in Assam and also assured assistance of any kind.

Kangana shared a post with the Chief Minister on her Instagram and wrote, “Such a delight to meet the honourable Chief Minister of Assam, Shri Himanta Biswa Sharma Ji…..he extended support for our team as we begin our outdoor schedule very soon in various locations across Assam.”

“Such an honour and privilege to get his support and encouragement. Many thanks, sir,” the actress further wrote.

The Queen actor is seen gifting Sarma in a brief video of the meeting. Post that, Sarma could be seen offering Kangana a traditional Assamese stole. In her upcoming period drama Emergency, Kangana will be seen portraying the role of late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Emergency marks Kangana’s first solo-directorial film.

The Bollywood ‘Queen’ actor’s upcoming film ‘Emergency’ is based on the biography of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, which will be played by Ranaut herself in her debut solo directorial effort.

The film also includes a cast of Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhry, Vishak Nair, and Shreyas Talpade
