Acclaimed sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan was awarded the prestigious Kamala Saikia Memorial 4th National Award in Guwahati today.

Several eminent personalities were present during the event organised jointly by the Kamala Saikia Memorial Trust and the Guwahati Press Club.

Retired justice of Gauhati high court Biplab Kumar Sarma delivered the Kamala Saikia Memorial lecture on the occasion.

It may be mentioned that the award was instituted in 2012 in honour of eminent journalist Late Kamala Saikia.
