Senior IAS officer Jishnu Barua has been appointed as the chief secretary of the government of Assam on Friday.
Presently, Barua is serving as the additional chief secretary of the government of Assam. He will take oath on Saturday.
Jishnu Baruah, a 1988 batch IAS officer will replace incumbent chief secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna. Krishna is retiring on October 31.
He was appointed as the chief secretary in December, 2019 to replace Alok Kumar.
