Jawan smashes all records with Rs 75 cr in opening day in India, crosses Rs 150 cr worldwide

Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan has smashed all records by collecting over Rs 75 crore in India on its opening day and Rs 150 crore globally overtaking Pathan’s collection that stood at Rs 57 crore on day one. With these numbers Jawan has become the only Hindi film so far to have the biggest single-day collection.

The other recent Hindi releases’ first day box office collection stood at Gadar 2 – Rs 43.08 crore, OMG 2 – Rs 10.26 cr and Dream Girl 2 – Rs 10.69 crore.

Jawan made a powerful debut in New Zealand too garnering NZ $79,805 (equivalent to Rs 39.13 lakh) on day 1.

Even in Germany, ‘Jawan’ started strong, securing the third position with earnings of Rs 1.30 crore. The movie’s appeal was not limited to India; it made an impressive start in North America, the UK, and Canada as well.
The film’s success extended beyond Indian shores, as it grossed AUD 400,000 in Australia on Thursday, making it the first Indian film to claim the top spot at the Australian box office.

Jawan had a global theatrical release on September 7 in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu versions. The film, directed by Atlee, features Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role, alongside Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, Sanya Malhotra, and Priyamani. Deepika Padukone made a special appearance in an extended role.

The film showcases SRK in a dual role, portraying an intelligence officer and a thief. Jawan was filmed in various picturesque locations across Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Rajasthan, and Aurangabad. The music for the film was composed by Anirudh Ravichander, marking his debut as a solo composer in Bollywood.
