Prof. Jagdish Mukhi has taken temporary charge as the Governor of Manipur from today.

The swearing-in ceremony was administered by acting Chief justice N Kotishwar at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhawan in Imphal.

It is to be mentioned here that as Najma Heptulla is on a leave for around a month, this interim arrangement has been made in the state of Manipur.

Meanwhile, at present Jagdish Mukhi is serving as the Governor of Assam and also as the Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar islands.
