The Itanagar district administration has suspended mobile internet services in the capital area region from 5 pm on January 12th to 5 pm on January 14th. The move comes in the wake of 36 hour bandh call given by All Nyishi Youth Association from January 13.
The step has been taken to “prevent occurrence of serious law and order problems during the proposed 36 hrs Bandh”, stated a release signed by Itnagar SC Talo Potom.
The General Manager, BSNL and Area Managers of Airtel, VI (Vodafone/ Idea), Jio services under the territorial jurisdiction Capital, ltanagar have been directed to comply with the Government direction for the duration of the suspension.
The All Nyishi Youth Association’s (ANYA) has called for a 36-hour bandh over alleged corruption by CM Pema Khandu.

14 legislators of the Arunachal Assembly representing the Nyishis have denounced the move of ANYA for giving an undemocratic bandh call against the government. Heeding to the request by the 14 Nyishi MLAs, the Nyishi Elite Society have also distanced from the bandh call given by the Nyishi Youth Association.
