Contractual employees of the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) of Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday staged a sit-in protest at the office of the General Manager BSNL in Itanagar.
The protesting employees have alleged that as many as 272 casual staff members of BSNL have not received their monthly salary for the past 21 months with no Employee Provision Fund (EPF) since 2018.
Among their demands include immediate payment of wages of the last 21 months, clearance of EPF since 2018, implementation of the minimum wages acts among others.
Meanwhile, the General Manager of BSNL Arunachal Pradesh Arung Siram has assured the protesting employees that their grievances shall be taken into consideration and conveyed to the concerned higher authorities.
