The blockbuster Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to begin from March 31. The IPL 2023 will kick off with a match between defending champions Gujarat Titans and four-time champions Chennai Super Kings. As IPL 2023 is just around the corner let’s have a look at the top 5 bowlers who are likely to dominate the upcoming tournament.
Kagiso Rabada (Punjab Kings)
Rabada will have a chance to win his second Purple Cap in the IPL if he plays in every one of PBKS’ games and the side advances further in the competition. The pacer has played 63 IPL matches and picked 99 wickets at an average of 19.86. He was pivotal to Delhi Capitals’ superb run in the IPL 2019 and 2020. He will now don the PBKS colours and with the pedigree that he brings, PBKS will be a force to reckon with in the IPL 2022.

Rashid Khan (Gujarat Titans)
Since his IPL debut, the Afghan spinner has been one of the most reliable players. In the title-winning year, Rashid took 19 wickets in 16 matches for Gujarat Titans. Rashid will once again be essential for the champs as games are scheduled to be played at several Indian sites; if he appears in every game, he is likely to be in contention for his first-ever Purple Cap.

Kuldeep Yadav (Delhi Capitals)
Crafty left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep was brought on board by the Delhi Capitals for INR 2 Crore. His uniqueness in terms of being a rare style of chinaman bowlers is something that has always been an X Factor and will continue to do so for the Delhi Capitals. He finished the IPL 2022 season with 21 wickets, third-most among spinners for the season and fifth overall among wicket-takers. Overall, he has picked up 61 wickets in 59 IPL matches.

Jofra Archer (Mumbai Indians)
Returning to cricket after a long wait and recovery from his injury, Jofra Archer will play for Mumbai Indians (MI). He can whack the ball clean and hard, and when he puts on the bowling shoes, he can clock speeds in excess of 150 kmph. He has played 35 matches to date in his IPL career and he took 46 wickets. Mumbai acquired the services of Jofra Archer for INR 8.00

Wanindu Hasaranga (Royal Challengers Bangalore)
Sri Lankan leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga joined Royal Challengers Bangalore for INR 10.75 crore at the IPL Mega Auction. Wanindu is all set to don the RCB colours again and will add the right balance to the squad. Hasaranga came very close to winning the Purple Cap last year, claiming 26 wickets including a 5-wicket haul, in 16 IPL matches.
