India’s ‘first village’ in Arunachal still lacks mobile connectivity

The remotest corners of the country still remain plagued by a lack of proper connectivity.

With that in mind, let us now take you to the remote village of Kaho in Arunachal Pradesh, popularly known as India’s ‘first village’.

Now, you may be wondering, what it is like living in this remote village. Well, for one, the village lacks mobile connectivity, meaning there is no network coverage in Kaho Village. Interestingly, however, cellular network from the Chinese side is available at select locations.

Located just about 15 kilometers away from the Mcmahon line, the Kaho Village is inhabited by 17 families in total.

By means of its strategic location, the Kaho village plays a very significant role in India’s overall geographical boundary. However, the lack of a mobile network has cut off the village from the rest of the country.

Speaking to Northeast Live, some of the villagers shared how the lack of network connectivity has caused hardships for the residents, and that their demand for connectivity has fallen on deaf ears.
