44 days after tragedy struck the ill-fated coal mine at Ksan in Meghalaya’s East Jaintia Hills, the multi-agency rescue operation led by the Indian Navy has managed to detect another body inside the coal mine.
The body was traced in the wee hours of Saturday at a depth of 280 feet from the surface of main shaft.
According to reports received earlier, it is presently located inside the horizontal tunnel or the rat hole mine.
Efforts to retrieve the body is likely to be made tomorrow wherein the rescuers are likely to try and pull it out to the surface of the main shaft.
Meanwhile attempts for retrieval of the remaining bodies continue at the disaster site.
