Number one in the world and in the points table, India take on 4th placed New Zealand in the first semi final of the World cup at the Old Trafford in Manchester on Tuesday (July 9).
The black caps apart from England are the only team India has not managed to beat in the World Cup so far and on two occasions, first, the warm up game at Kennington Oval in London and later the group game that got washed out resulting in both teams sharing a point each.
New Zealand started smooth before stumbling towards the finish line. However, they drove so fast in the initial phase that they eventually made it over the line as the fourth team.
The journey so far though matters little as it’s a completely fresh start from here. India has had a couple of injuries on the way but still managed to have good options and combinations for all situations.
Meanwhile, skipper Virat Kohli addressing the media ahead of the semi final clash said that decision making will be the crucial factor.
A seemingly relaxed Kohli said that both teams have the experience of playing knock out games in the past and the braver team on the day will come out on top.
