In a significant development, pictures have emerged of a group of Indian Army soldiers hoisting the tricolour in the Galwan Valley on the New Year.
Previously, on January 1, the Chinese Communist Party mouthpiece Global Times shared a video of the Chinese National Flag being hoisted at the Galwan Valley, with PLA soldiers saluting their national flag, as a complete show of strength in the disputed area.

However, a few photos were released by Union Law and Justice Minister Kiren Rijiju on his Twitter handle, which can be perceived as a powerful counter to the video circulated from the Chinese side. The latest pictures, which show the flag of the Indian Army’s Dogra regiment flying next to the Indian flag, effectively bust the Chinese propaganda.

This latest development assumes significance after the 15th June 2020 incident, where 21 Indian Army soldiers, including a commanding officer, were martyred in the Galwan Valley. After a series of talks between both sides, the de-escalation process was underway to resolve the crisis, and this latest development assumes significance in that direction.
