External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj launched a blistering attack on Pakistan for providing safe haven to terrorism and its verbal duplicity, as she delivered her speech at the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
In a searing attack on Pakistan, the External Affairs Minister accused Pakistan of glorifying terrorists and refusing to see the blood of innocents.
Addressing the 73rd United Nations General Assembly debate, the foreign minister said despite India extending the olive branch for talks many times, it had to be stopped only because of the behaviour of the neighbouring country.
Sushma Swaraj also referred to the last year’s incident at the United Nations session when Pakistan’s representative, using right to reply, displayed some photographs as proof of human rights violations by India, which later turned out to be from another country.
Sushma Swaraj said that Pakistan has also betrayed the United States after it provided shelter to 9/11 perpetrator Osama Bin Laden. She also accused Pakistan on providing safe haven to 26/11 mastermind Hafiz Saeed.
Swaraj’s speech at the global stage comes at a time when India has been trying to get a permanent seat at the United Nations and the recent killing of 3 SPO’s in Kashmir. Swaraj cornered Pakistan on playing a double game.
She said that on one hand, the new government in Pakistan invites for talks and on the other hand kills three policemen in Jammu Kashmir.
It is for the first time in 5 years since the NDA came to power, India has named Pakistan for sponsoring terrorism.
