INDIA alliance not working, shall turn to a single alphabet soon: Tripura CM Manik Saha

The big tent political alliance of the opposition parties Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (I.N.D.I.A) has broken down to INDI and in the coming days the alliance shall reduce to a single alphabet , said the Chief Minister of Tripura Prof. Dr Manik Saha on Saturday.

Speaking to the media during the launch of the poll campaign in Agartala for Agartala Mayor Dipak Majumder, BJP candidate announced on Friday for the by-election to the  Ramnagar assembly constituency,  CM Saha said, , “INDIA is no more there, it has turned into INDI because they no more have their alliance. I am sure gradually they shall come down to a single alphabet and it is happening. In West Bengal it (alliance) is not happening.”

“It can be well understood that their alliance is just an eyewash. They thought that if the name is INDIA they shall be able to befool the public, but people understand everything. Now the name has become INDI “he further added.

CM Saha launched the campaign along with Majumder after offering prayers in a local temple here from Colonel Chowmhuni area.

CM Saha lauded the developments in India and Tripura under the ten years of BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and also exuded his confidence of winning both the lok sabha seats and the lone assembly seat.

Quashing the allegation brought by the opposition parties Saha said, “The Opposition have no issues. We can now see they are going behind the bars and it is due to their deeds.”

Meanwhile taking a snide dig at the opposition’s allegation that BJP’s East Tripura candidate Maharani Kriti Singh Debbarma is an outsider and that she cannot relate with the issue of the tribal people, chief minister Saha said that she is not an outsider, as she is the daughter of Maharaja Kirit Bikram Kishore Maniky, she is the daughter of the state.

It is to be mentioned that the by-election to the Ramnagar Assembly constituency is taking place due to the demise of the prominent BJP MLA Surajit Datta on December 28 last year following prolonged illness, who was a seven times MLA from the Ramnagar constituency.  Late Surajit Datta served as the MLA from Ramnagar since 1988 on a Congress ticket except in 2013 when he lost to CPM. Later he joined BJP in 2018 and won the seat twice.

Lok Sabha elections for the two seats in Tripura will be held on April 19 (Tripura West) and April 26 (Tripura East). The by-election to the Ramnagar Assembly constituency will be held on April 19.
