#Assam | Illegal sand mining along the banks of river Pahumara in Lower Assam’s Bajali district, has posed a serious threat to the people residing in Rajakhat area. Extensive sand mining along the river banks have threatened the livelihood of the people in the area, in the past few years, floods have destroyed houses, livestock and farmlands. Locals alleged that sand mafias have been illegally mining sand from the river banks day in and day out.
