Indian Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa will visit the Jorhat air base in Assam to review the ongoing search and rescue operation for the missing AN-32 aircraft.

The IAF chief is expected to be briefed by top officials in Jorhat about the ongoing operations to trace the aircraft which went missing with 13 people on board.

However, search and rescue operations proved futile on the 6th day as well. Search operations by air was briefly suspended on Saturday morning due to bad weather condition, it resumed soon with helicopters being pressed into service.

While aerial search may not continue over night, search through sensors and other means may continue through the night.

It may be mentioned that the Indian Air Force is on a relentless pursuit to locate the missing aircraft, while the Indian Army, Police, Arunachal Government, Paramilitary forces and local population are also lending crucial support in search operations.

Meanwhile, Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu took to Twitter and said that his full solidarity is there with the families of the missing Air Force warriors.
