Assam Police have recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from Assam’s Karbi Anglong district yesterday.
Based on intelligence input, the police team launched a search operation in Doidak area of Dokmoka.
During the raid, the team recovered an AK-56 rifle, a 9 mm pistol, a point 32 pistol, 2 magazines with a 9mm Sten gun,9 AK magazines, 44 rounds of ammunition of AK rifle and 7 live cartridges of 9 mm pistol.
As per inputs, the police recovered the cache of arms and ammunition buried under the earth.
However, who buried the arms and ammunition in the area, is yet to be known.
The operation was led by Karbi Anglong District Police’s DSP Nahid Karishma, Haoraghat Circle Police Officer Manjit Terang, Dokmaka Police Station In-charge Sanat Kumar Mudai.
Investigation into the matter is underway.
