As per reports, the meeting has been called on an emergency basis and the Assam CM has cancelled all his prior programme scheduled for the day and rushed to Delhi to meet Union Home Minister.
In view of the firing incident in Nagaland and the uproar against the Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA), the meeting would be focusing primarily on the law and order situation in the states in Northeast.
The meeting is also slated to cover the issue of holding peace talks with the United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I).
Besides this, several key issues will be discussed at the meeting today.
COVID situation of Assam may also find space in the meet considering the rise of Omicron variant cases in the country.
