Sprinter Hima Das took her first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on Thursday. The international athlete shared a photo of herself getting vaccinated on Twitter and urged everyone to get vaccinated.

“Got first dose of Covid Vaccination. Get yourself vaccinated,” Hima Das wrote in a tweet.

The Dhing Express was recently appointed as deputy superintendent of police (DSP) by the Assam government as a recognition to her achievements in the field of sports.

Hima is the first-ever Indian women athlete to win a gold medal in any format of a global track event at the IAAF World U20 Championships. She clocked a record 51.46 seconds.

Registering her best timing, the star athlete has several other titles and medals to her credit.
