Heavy Gunfight Erupts Near Indo-Myanmar Border: KNA-B Cadres Killed, Several Injured

A major armed clash erupted near the Indo-Myanmar border, close to Border Pillar No. 87 in Myanmar, adjacent to Manipur’s Kamjong district. The gunfight, which took place in the early hours of Monday, involved Kuki National Army-Burma (KNA-B) militants and Manipur-based rival groups.
Sources reported that the firing began around 2:30 AM and lasted for over an hour. During the exchange, atleast 10 KNA-B cadres were killed, while an unspecified number sustained injuries. Rival groups also reportedly suffered casualties, though the exact figures remain unknown.
In the aftermath of the gunfight, at least 13 highly sophisticated weapons were seized from the site. The situation in the border region remains tense, and more details are awaited.
