Assam Minister Parimal Suklabaidhya, Addl DGP Mukesh Agarwal and other senior district administration officials of Hailakandi conducted a meeting, where it was decided that the curfew in trouble hit Hailakandi town that was scheduled to end on Sunday at 7 am may get extended to 12 in the noon depending on the situation.
It was also decided to grant a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the family of the deceased and also a government job for a family member of the deceased. The government is also looking into the demand of a judicial enquiry into the matter.
There are no reports of fresh clashes with the district administration and senior state government officials who are camping in Hailakandi now holding a peace committee meeting at the deputy commissioner’s office.
