Continuing the war on drugs, Assam police today seized 46.5 grams of heroin and arrested a woman drug dealer in connection with the seizure in Guwahati.
The arrested drug peddler has been identified as Afsana Begum, a resident of Bhutnath Bagan under Bharalumukh Jurisdiction in Kamrup district of Assam.
Based on reliable input, a team from the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam Police conducted a raid at Afsana Begum’s residence.
During the raid, the team recovered a soap box and a plastic container containing suspected heroin, cash Rs. 10,410, and two mobile phones.
Investigation into the matter is underway.
Earlier, on May 10, police seized 572 grams of heroin with an estimated market value of Rs 3 crores and arrested 3 individuals in connection with the seizure in Cachar district.
On April 4, the Assam Police recovered heroin worth Rs 12 crore from Guwahati and arrested two drug peddlers identified as Zamal Ali and Salimuddin. The drugs consignment was brought from Manipur.
