Chaos broke out at Cotton State University in Guwahati on Sunday night after a man was hit by a speeding water tanker in front of the Mahendra Nath Deka Phukan Hostel. The man, who sustained severe injuries, was immediately rushed to a hospital for treatment.
Following the incident, students of the University expressed their anger by taking to the streets. They blocked the road in protest, demanding immediate action to prevent such incidents in the future.
The students specifically called for the roads passing through the University premises to be declared a ‘closed corridor’, to enhance safety and avoid similar incidents.
Moreover, the protest led to traffic disruption, as the students refused to clear the road until their demands were addressed.
