Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will inaugurate the Shraddhanjali flyover at 5:15 PM this evening
In less than 2 months, Guwahati is all set to get the second longest road bridge in the state today. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will inaugurate the much awaited 2.28 km long Shraddhanjali Flyover connecting the busy Commerce Point with Sundarpur in the city.
It is expected that the bridge, built at a cost of Rs 316 crore, will cut the travel time for the commuters visiting the Assam State Zoo and the Janata Bhawan (Assam Secretariat) by almost 50%. The bridge has been completed in a record time of 11 months.
The 2-lane flyover has an arm extension connecting the Mother Teresa Road towards Geetanagar.
The RG Baruah road is a vital road link which links other roads like the GS Road and the Maniram Dewan Road.
In a post on X, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “Completed 11 months ahead of schedule, the Shraddhanjali Flyover, built at a cost of ₹316 cr, will augment smoother traffic flow in Guwahati.”
The Shraddhanjali Flyover is the second longest road bridge in the state after the 2.63 km long Nilachal Flyover connecting Maligaon and Kamakhya Gate. Chief Minister Sarma had inaugurated the bridge on August 30.
The commissioning of the 2 key bridges in Guwahati within 2 months bears the testimony of the city as well as the entire state making rapid strides in terms of infrastructure development under the Himanta Biswa Sarma government.
