The Assam Government has undertaken a unique initiative of setting up COVID-19 Counselling Centres in all the wards of Guwahati Municipal Corporation area.
The centres will provide the services like Covid counselling, swab collection, medical examination, result reporting, shifting of positive cases to isolation centres, dissemination of information regarding COVID-19.
State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma taking to Twitter has urged the citizens to use these facilities and come forward for voluntary testing.
“We have activated all 31 Covid Counselling Centres in each and every ward of Guwahati Municipal Corporation. I urge citizen of Guwahati to use these facilities and come forward for voluntary testing for #Covid_19,” tweeted Sarma.
Meanwhile, the number of COVID-19 positive cases in Guwahati continues to spike as 53 more cases without any travel history were detected in the city on Wednesday.
The review meeting was attended by Chief Ministers of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Tripura.
