Assam Govt Approves Rs 300 Crore Residential Project for Assam Medical College & Hospital Doctors and Staff

The Assam government has approved a Rs. 300 crore residential colony project to improve infrastructure at Assam Medical College & Hospital (AMCH), Dibrugarh.

Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma held a review meeting at the CM Secretariat with officials from the Public Works Department (PWD) and AMCH to assess the project plans. The proposed development will include new residential quarters for the Principal, Vice Principal, senior and junior faculty, along with quarters for General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) staff, student hostels, and a conference center.

The project will also provide accommodation for third- and fourth-grade staff while incorporating modern amenities and ensuring seamless integration with AMCH’s future expansion plans. The Chief Minister emphasised the need for state-of-the-art facilities and directed the PWD to execute the project efficiently in close coordination with AMCH authorities.

He highlighted that the initiative will improve living conditions for medical professionals and students, ultimately strengthening healthcare services in the region.
