Manipur Governor La Ganesan on his maiden visit to Churachandpur urged the people to get vaccinated against Coronavirus and continue Covid-19 appropriate behaviour.
He was also all praise about Manipuris’ excellence in the field of sports and culture.
Addressing a gathering of District Level Officers, representatives of CSOs, and Village Chiefs of Churachandpur and Pherzawl districts at Mini-Secretariat Multipurpose Hall here, the Manipur Governor lauded the prompt action of the Government in its efforts to contain Covid-19. He believed that the coronavirus pandemic will soon be left behind. “We may not be able to eliminate the dreaded disease, but prevent it because of precaution,” he said.
He appealed to all sections of the society to get vaccinated against Covid-19. Vaccination is not limited to any person or place, but the responsibility of every citizen to keep themselves as well as their families, relatives, and friends to make themselves Covid-free,” he added.
Lauding the excellence of the State in Sports and Culture, he urged the children and youngsters to get engaged in sports activities which also helps in maintaining good health. “I am happy to be the Governor of Manipur which has many representatives in the Olympics.”
Do remember your past, history has so many things to teach you. History has taught you ways and means of living. Learn from the past and adapt to the changes in the present that you may grow in the future, he quipped.
This is his second visit to Hill Districts after Chandel. The Governor also interacted with civil society organisations’ leaders, beneficiaries of Govt schemes, and honoured next of kin of martyred soldiers and officers from the District.
