She has been awarded prize money by various organizations and the Assam government has decided to make her state’s brand ambassador for sports.
The oldest and most renowned university in Northeast, Gauhati University has announced cash prize money of rupees five lakh to the golden girl as a token of appreciation on her achievement.
Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi who is also the chancellor of Gauhati University along with Vice-Chancellor Mridul Hazarika announced the decision which was hailed by the fraternity of the University.
Mukhi expressed his happiness and wished that Hima Das would bring more laurels and pride for the country in the near future.
