Fourth coronavirus death reported in India; bans int’l flights from March 22

As India continues to step up measures against the novel Coronavirus, the country reported its 4th death due to COVID-19 after a 70-year-old man in Punjab succumbed to the virus.

As India continues to step up measures against the novel Coronavirus, the country reported its 4th death due to COVID-19 after a 70-year-old man in Punjab succumbed to the virus. The man had travel history to Germany and Italy.

In the meantime, the total number of confirmed cases has crossed 180 on a day India decided to bar international flights from March 22nd to 29th.

In a press briefing, Health secretary Lav Agarwal informed of a host of fresh measures undertaken to prevent the spread of Coronavirus in the country.

While international flights have been suspended in the country from March 22nd to 29th, those below 10 years and above 65 years of age have been asked to stay indoors.

Besides, state governments have been asked to enforce work from home for private sector employees even as central government employees have been asked to work alternate weeks.
