The oath was administered by Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya in the presence of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

While the portfolios for the new ministers are yet to be announced, the induction of Krishnendu Paul and Kaushik Rai, both representing the Barak Valley region, has drawn particular attention.

Earlier, Sanjoy Kisan, the MLA from Tinsukia, resigned as Minister for Labour and Tea Tribes Welfare.

Today’s induction takes the total strength of the Himanta Biswa Cabinet to its full strength of 18.
