A video showing four men assaulting a patient’s attendant inside an Aizawl hospital has sparked widespread outrage in Mizoram.
The shocking incident, which took place on Friday, led to the arrest of the accused on Sunday after the footage went viral on social media.
As per reports, the men, identified as Roderick Thangdingliana Renthlei, Lalduhawma Khawlhring, Lalsangzuala Ralte, and Abenego Lalrinawma stormed the hospital following a brawl earlier that evening, targeting a patient involved in the altercation. Their actions created chaos in the ward, leaving patients and medical staff alarmed.
All four men are residents of Aizawl who are currently in detention and will appear before a district court today.
The hospital’s medical superintendent filed a complaint with Vaivakawn Police Station after the video surfaced. Public anger has intensified, particularly after Renthlei allegedly claimed on social media to be the son of a senior police officer.
In response, Home Minister K. Sapdanga has directed the police to fast-track the investigation and ensure strict action against the culprits. Authorities have assured the public that justice will be served, as demands for accountability grow louder.
