Police seized several Bangladeshi documents, mobile phones, and other belongings from the detainees.

At least four Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended by the railway police at Agartala Railway Station, said Tapas Das, the officer in charge of the GRP station in Agartala on Wednesday.

Acting on a tip-off, a railway police team laid a trap at Agartala railway station on Tuesday evening.
The team arrested four suspected Bangladesh nationals from the railway station. After preliminary interrogation, the individuals had crossed the border without valid legal documents and were attempting to travel to West Bengal.

A case has been registered against them, and initial investigations revealed their intention to reach Kolkata.

Police seized several Bangladeshi documents, mobile phones, and other belongings from the detainees.

They are going to be presented in court today, with police seeking remand for further interrogation.

This arrest is part of our ongoing efforts to secure the border and prevent illegal infiltration.
